POLYTECHNIC COMMON ENTRANCE TEST-2021 DETAILED NOTIFICATION

Admission into Diploma Courses in Engineering & Non-Engineering in Polytechnics affiliated to SBTET & Agricultural courses offered by Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) & Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Courses offered by PV Narasimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University (PVNRTVU) for AY-2021-22.

Application are called from Candidates passed SSC or its equivalent recognized by the Board of Secondary Education, TS, Hyderabad (or) appearing in 2021 to appear "Polytechnic Common Entrance Test - POLYCET-2021" for seeking admission into Diploma Courses in Engineering and Non-Engineering/Technology offered at Polytechnics/ Institutions ( including Govt./Aided and Unaided polytechnics/ Institutions and 2nd shift Polytechnics running in Private Engineering Colleges) in Telangana State and Diploma Courses offered by Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), PV Narasimha Rao Telangana, veterinary University (PVNRTVU) and affiliated Polytechnics in the Telangana State for the academic year.

Eligibility:

1. Candidates who have passed SSC or its equivalent examination recognized by the Board of Secondary Education, TS, Hyderabad are eligible to apply.
2. The candidates who have compartmentally passed or appearing for SSC-2021 are also eligible to apply. However, they must have passed in all the subjects before seeking admission.

How to apply:

1. State Board of Technical Education & Training, Hyderabad has made arrangements to file online applications at various AP-Online/ through payment gateway.
2. The detailed list of Coordinating cum Help line centres is available in the website https://polycetts.nic.in
3. In order to file application, the general candidates shall pay the examination fee of Rs. 400/- (Rupees Four Hundred only) and for SC/ST candidates Rs.250/- (Rupees Two Hundred and Fifty only).

SYLLABUS

1. The examination (POLYCET) will be of 2 Hrs 30 Minutes duration consisting of only one paper as per the syllabus in the subjects of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry & Biology of X Class (S.S.C.) Examination held in Academic Year 2020-2021 as prescribed by the Board of Secondary Education, Telangana State.

Question Paper Pattern:

The POLYCET Examination will be conducted for 150 marks in Mathematics (60 marks) + Physics (30 Marks) + Chemistry (30 Marks) +Biology (30 Marks).
The Duration of Examination is 2 ½ hours i.e, 11:00 AM to 01:30PM.
The candidates who are willing to take admission in to Agricultural & Veterinary Diploma Courses offered by PJTSAU & PVNRTVU attempt Biology Questions.

Two separate Ranks will be generated for each candidate through POLYCET for Admissions into Polytechnics and Admissions into Agricultural Diplomas & Admissions into Veterinary Diplomas as per the following criteria:

(i) For Admission into Polytechnics the ranking will be based on the marks scored in Maths (60 marks) + Physics (30 Marks) + Chemistry (30 Marks) put together for maximum marks of 120.
(ii) For Admission into Agricultural Polytechnics the ranking will be based on the marks scored in Maths (60/2=30 Marks) + Physics (30 Marks) + Chemistry (30 Marks) + Biology (30) Marks put together for maximum marks of 120.

The Admission Schedule:

1. The admission schedule (Web Counseling) will be notified in all the leading Newspapers after declaration of POLYCET-2021 results.
2. Candidates are advised to note that the admission into Polytechnics for the academic year 2021-22 shall be made on the basis of Web Counseling, wherein the candidates can opt for any courses in any Polytechnic in the order of priority and the allotment shall be made for his/her best preferred choice based on his/her merit and other admission rules in vogue.
3. Details of Web counseling and the list of Helpline centers will be available on the website https://tspolycet.nic.in and shall also be notified in all the leading Newspapers after declaration of POLYCET-2021 results.

Important Instructions for candidates:-

1. Hall Ticket issued to you is an important document. Please preserve it carefully till the admissions.
2. Candidate shall arrive at the examination hall at least 1 hour before commencement of the examination. This will enable the candidate to familiarize himself/herself with OMR response sheet.
3. Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall after 11:00AM, once the examination has commenced.
4. Candidates are directed to carry the following to the examination hall (a). Good ball point pen (black), (b). Writing pad (C). HB or 2B Pencils (d).an Eraser (e). Sharpener.
5. Candidate should not bring log books, tables, calculators, tabs, cell phones, communicable/programmable electronic gadgets etc. into examination hall.
6. Candidates must remain seated in their allotted seats till the completion of examination. In no case they will be allowed to leave the examination hall till 1:30PM. Before leaving, the candidates must return OMR response sheet to the invigilator.
7. Candidates are advised to go through the instructions given for marking answers and other entries on the OMR response sheet thoroughly.
8. POLYCET- Entrance Test is conducted for candidates who desires to take up admissions up into Diploma level programmes offered in Government, Government-Aided, Private Un- Aided Polytechnics and 2nd Shift Polytechnics run in existing Private Un-Aided Engineering Colleges in Telangana State
9. Diploma Courses offered by Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) both University and affiliated polytechnics in the Telangana State.
10. Two separate Ranks will be allotted for the candidate who appeared for POLYCET
11. Diploma Courses in Polytechnics ,Rank will be issued to the candidate based on marks obtained in Maths, Physics and Chemistry.
12. PJTSAU Rank will be issued to the candidate based on marks obtained in Maths,Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
13. Attempting the Biology questions is optional.
14. Candidates can opt to take admission in to either Diploma Courses offered in Polytechnics (or) Courses offered by PJTSAU.
15. No separate application form for admission is prescribed for the candidate desirous of seeking admission in to Engineering (or) Non-Engineering Diploma courses offered by Polytechnics, the filled-in application for POLYCET-2021 itself will be treated as application for admission in to courses offered in Polytechnics.
16. Separate admission notification will be issued for admission into various Diploma Courses offered by PV Narasimha Rao Telangana, veterinary University(PVNRTVU) PJTSAU on the University website www.pitsau.edu.in_after the declaration of results of POLYCET-2021.
17. The OMR response sheet should be handled carefully and the candidates are advised not to fold or wrinkle or tear the OMR sheet under any circumstances. Candidates are advised not to scribe or make any marks on the response sheet except marking answers other relevant data at appropriate places. Candidates shall note that they will not be given under any circumstances a second OMR sheet.Candidate shall mark the correct answer in the OMR response sheet by shading in dark the appropriate circle with HB or 2B pencil. They should not use ball pen for this purpose under any circumstances.
18. Candidates should not suffer from any of the following defects: a) Mentally retarded b) Blindness c) Deaf and Dumb d) Chronic Heart, Lung, Kidney, Liver diseases e) Muscular dystrophy and if found the candidate forfeit chance to appear examination.
